So, I recently learned that wine bottles come in different shapes other than ‘normal’ and ‘mini’. Interestingly – or at least interesting for a total history nerd like myself – the various wine bottle sizes are named for Biblical kings and historical figures. There’s the Jeroboam, named after the First king of the Northern Kingdom in the Bible, Methuselah, the oldest man, and the Nebuchadnezzar, the Biblical king of Babylon. I only happened to come across this factoid whilst researching my latest article for WOW247 on 10 great places to grab some bubbly in Brighton, which you can find here: wow247.co.uk/2015/12/16/champagne-and-fizz-brighton
