A Crawley man has credited his favourite football team with saving his life.
Crawley Town Football Club supporter Gavin Green was offered a job with the club office after other fans grew concerns about his mental wellbeing.
The 52 year old has spent the last five years applying to thousands of jobs without success.
Gavin’s tweets about the dark thoughts he was having following the series of rejections were spotted by Ewan Dunlop, who hosts the club’s fan podcast.
He urged his followers to help Gavin find work, and within a matter of hours, Crawley Town FC had approached Gavin with a job opportunity.
He now works at the club office, fulfilling a number of support roles. Watch Gavin talk about his experiences here:
